Goldex took to the stage at last week’s AltFi London Summit’s inaugural fintech pitch-off competition and won.
We were awarded the top prize after winning over AltFi’s audience by presenting Goldex as the world’s first retail and institutional marketplace for gold trading. Our founder and CEO, Sylvia Carrasco, led the pitch highlighting how our mobile app and B2B service offer competitive gold prices and “best execution” across several gold markets… supported by Goldex’s fair business model and enabled by its unique smart trading technology.
“We are extremely thrilled to have won AltFi’s first-ever fintech pitch-off competition. We were in great company with other top fintech startups competing and enjoyed the chance to pitch in front of such an engaged audience,” said Carrasco.
Five other startups participated including Coconut, a freelancer and self-employed banking app that came in second place followed by digital pension platform Penfold, peer-to-peer property lending platform Blend Network, ICO compliance startup Torca and regtech for digital currencies and financial ecosystems Coinfirm.
Each startup gave a four-minute presentation followed by five minutes of Q&A. Technology journalist and entrepreneur, Kitty Knowles, moderated the competition featuring a grand prize of two memberships for The Clubhouse London’s leading business members club, with workspaces across four locations in central London.
